How to recognise a quality coach from an average, below-average or even outright poor one? You might say it's no great art. A coach simply ‚explains something‘, demonstrates, analyses. However, if you care about improving performance(whether your own or that of your child) and are therefore searching for a quality coach without having experience and do not want to throw money down the drain, it is certainly good to know how such a quality coach works...
The author had been planning for some time to write a kind of cookbook on how to distinguish pure gold from fool's gold or silver from alpaca wool, even with aáfinal test, which would (this time on the contrary) present the candidate to the coach. Very much his work was facilitated by Slovak grandmaster and at the same time one of the best Slovak coaches Ján Markoš. Nevertheless here Mr Markoš forgets on one very essential value, which a quality coach - a professional should operate with. What could it be? Well, of course...work results! Vžafter all, how does the work of a chess coach differ, for example, from functioe a manager, an athlete or even an artist? We recommend therefore at the start of the intended cooperation asking the coach candidate the question„Which chess players have you actually trained from the beginning? What successes have they achieved?’ů Raised? What achievements did they conquer?..“If the coach candidate starts to mumble ‚something‘, to dodge orechange the subject, or if they give you even false information, avoid such a fraudster at all costs. On the contrary, the coach should, in our opinion, provide you with an overview of their professional achievements... are approximately just, as the author does below, in the attachments.
