Many coaches <\/span>have often asked themselves in their work or hobby: \u201eHow <\/span>can I <\/span>recognise among children <\/span>the real <\/span>talents?<\/span>?<\/span> And more, how to gain in<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>a relatively short time at least relative<\/span>\u00ed<\/span> certainty that <\/span>z<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>my<\/span> pupil might <\/span>grow into<\/span> something?\u201c Surely, most experienced coaches gradually<\/span>over<\/span> time develop a feel and can already after the first steps of their pupils<\/span> to find out<\/span>, whether it makes sense to <\/span>is <\/span>continue <\/span>to try <\/span>v<\/span>to raise<\/span>to keep<\/span> s<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>the aim <\/span>to create <\/span>z<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>of them <\/span>chess player<\/span>y<\/span>, <\/span>v<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>whose strengths<\/span> either<\/span>e<\/span> to attack high<\/span>targets.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

Without wanting to elaborate here on which system or <\/span>their com<\/span>bination will answer for us <\/span>the presented<\/span> problem with considerable certainty, I will suggest one more method to coaches.<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

I myself only started playing competitive chess at <\/span>twelve<\/span> years<\/span>,<\/span> and so we, together with peers (in<\/span> Pilsen<\/span>, or rather the West Bohemian region<\/span> operated<\/span> at that time a huge and very successful centre) soon <\/span>fought our way<\/span> into puberty. I no longer remember why, other than <\/span>calf l<\/span>\u00e9<\/span>ties<\/span> he <\/span>this <\/span>probably not even <\/span>explain<\/span> possible <\/span>\uf04a<\/span>,<\/span> but we laughed like<\/span>o<\/span> madmen<\/span>, when we were<\/span>\u0161<\/span> leader at one<\/span>name from<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>summer <\/span>camps<\/span> said roughly this: \u201eAn excellent chess player must be <\/span>a thoughtful mental type<\/span>!\u201c<\/span><\/p>\n

Today I am convinced, and throughout my approximately <\/span>25<\/span>years <\/span>coaching <\/span>professional<\/span>career I have often <\/span>been confirmed<\/span>,<\/span> most<\/span>e<\/span>in the truth<\/span> of this necessary condition, but perhaps even of its <\/span>almost <\/span>one hundred percent reliability<\/span> in <\/span>determining<\/span> a young talent. <\/span>To the same level can be <\/span>perhaps <\/span>truly <\/span>should be placed <\/span>only <\/span>intuition<\/span> very <\/span>experienced<\/span>, gifted<\/span> a<\/span> empathic<\/span>coach or psychologist. Even a lightning-fast shower of great successes of our little prot\u00e9g\u00e9 can be just a false <\/span>shell <\/span>which, however,<\/span>, <\/span>experienced<\/span> coaches certainly very<\/span>\u00ed<\/span> well <\/span>know... <\/span>v\u011bd\u00ed...<\/span><\/p>\n

How to reveal the decisive feature of ATD<\/span>?<\/span><\/p>\n

I have always liked logical puzzles, which for example<\/span>,<\/span> as is well known<\/span>,<\/span> directly brim<\/span>e<\/span>albert ein<\/span>s<\/span>stein<\/span>.<\/span> P<\/span>if <\/span>u<\/span>with his <\/span>thought<\/span> experiments did not trouble the staunch, yet <\/span>his <\/span>favourite <\/span>adherent <\/span>of Niels Bohr's quantum theory<\/span>, he also devised amusing logical puzzles intended for <\/span>a wid<\/span>er<\/span> audience<\/span>. Just a little surfing on the <\/span>internet<\/span>.<\/span>..<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

If we therefore accept the assertion that only <\/span>HDT<\/span> (<\/span>as <\/span>an intrinsic <\/span>property<\/span>t <\/span>of a person) <\/span>has the power <\/span>to make <\/span>z<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>child's mind<\/span>p<\/span>of a serious chess player with<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>master ambitions<\/span>, from<\/span>b<\/span>there is <\/span>already<\/span> only one! <\/span>To find out whether <\/span>our <\/span>prot\u00e9g\u00e9 <\/span>t<\/span>o<\/span>possesses this quality<\/span>\u00ed <\/span>has<\/span>!<\/span>?<\/span><\/p>\n

The following logical puzzle, which at one of our training camps (in Kunkovice near Klatovy<\/span>;<\/span> z<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>place<\/span>and the event's name is derived from <\/span>z<\/span>\u00e1<\/span>educational <\/span>training <\/span>value<\/span> logical puzzles, but also <\/span>of the story below)<\/span>\u00a0 <\/span>entered <\/span>a little <\/span>to older children by the coach <\/span>ing. <\/span>Karel Nov\u00e1\u010dek<\/span>,<\/span> was dormant for several years in<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>my computer. My colleague<\/span> could no longer say to what extent he was its <\/span>(co-)<\/span>author or simply adapted it to local conditions, while <\/span>the main <\/span>framework <\/span>of the story <\/span>remained intact.<\/span> With a little effort <\/span>it is possible <\/span>after all <\/span>even it<\/span> v <\/span>modified<\/span> similarly find on the internet, but the trick of the puzzle below lies <\/span>i <\/span>v<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>in the fact that the pupil must <\/span>filter out<\/span> a considerable amount of unnecessary<\/span> (although educational <\/span>\uf04a<\/span>)<\/span> information. Because <\/span>today children generally have a lower ability to understand text, it is <\/span>this <\/span>already <\/span>textual padding <\/span>by itself an indicator<\/span> i <\/span>of the presence or ab <\/span>sence<\/span>e<\/span>of <\/span>HDT!<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

In my opinion, it is possible <\/span>to give the puzzle <\/span>to children <\/span>from about<\/span> 12 years old. If we are <\/span>\u0161<\/span>lucky and are raising a genius, then age certainly does not ma<\/span>\u00e1<\/span>lie <\/span>\uf04a<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

I might add that the coach will certainly be able to adapt the logic puzzle to their own needs<\/span>m<\/span>...<\/span><\/p>\n

Ku<\/span>n<\/span>kovi\u010dt\u00ed p<\/span>ruminants<\/span> \u2013 <\/span>logic puzzle<\/span><\/p>\n

V<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>picturesque \u0160umava surroundings <\/span>live <\/span>ruminants known since time immemorial, who in<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>the vicinity of the Ostru\u017en\u00e1 stream graze juicy green grass.<\/span><\/p>\n

The ruminants reside on the left side of the stream and every day they have to cross a bridge to the right side, where the aforementioned tasty green grass is located. <\/span>It is not<\/span> otherwise comparable conditions <\/span>o <\/span>a trouble-free crossing, because <\/span>the footbridge<\/span> is <\/span>is very old<\/span>\u00e1<\/span>, dilapidated<\/span>\u00e1<\/span> and can carry a maximum of 2 ruminants at once. <\/span><\/p>\n

As if that were not enough, in the<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>sky-blue stream there live other creatures besides <\/span>only <\/span>frogs, fish and <\/span>crabs,<\/span> and even<\/span>\u00a0 <\/span>the terrifying knights<\/span>k<\/span>Ovi\u010dt\u00ed alligators <\/span><\/p>\n

, <\/span>who wait for hours and days until some ruminant falls from<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>the bridge and thus becomes a welcome treat for these predators. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span>The group of ruminants consists of a total of 4 <\/span>members<\/span>,<\/span> and even <\/span>B\u00e9\u010f<\/span>u<\/span>, <\/span>M\u00e9\u010f<\/span>u<\/span>, <\/span>P\u00e9\u010f<\/span>u<\/span> a <\/span>Lenoch<\/span>a<\/span>, who can cross the bridge at varying speeds<\/span>.<\/span><\/p>\n

B\u00e9\u010fa<\/span> is a very talented ruminant who spends most of his time improving his skills. He trains diligently, always completes his homework perfectly, and even sometimes adds something extra. He can literally <\/span>run across <\/span>the bridge in a record<\/span> 1 minute. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span>Equally diligent is <\/span>M\u00e9\u010fa<\/span>. <\/span>Unlike B\u00e9di, however, his talent is not at such a high level<\/span>;<\/span> nevertheless <\/span>but <\/span>with persistent<\/span> training he can <\/span>manage to<\/span> cross the bridge already in <\/span>2 minutes<\/span>. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

On the other hand<\/span> P\u00e9\u010fa<\/span> cannot fully utilise his innate talent<\/span>!<\/span> T<\/span>because he does not train, he is mainly interested in grass containing alcohol,<\/span>\u00a0 <\/span>rude programmes on<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>television and <\/span>stupid computer games or <\/span>even \u201a<\/span>ruminants<\/span>\u2018<\/span>, \u2019, he cannot<\/span>get below the threshold of<\/span> 5 minutes <\/span>to cross the bridge. <\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span>The fourth and also the last ruminant is <\/span>Lenoch<\/span>, <\/span>which is an absolute <\/span>\u201a<\/span>tragedy<\/span>\u2018<\/span>!<\/span> Not only was he born without any talent, but he refuses to <\/span>i <\/span>fulfil <\/span>the required<\/span> tasks. Training is a foreign language to him<\/span>.<\/span> N<\/span>and on the contrary he is <\/span>\u201a<\/span>an expert<\/span>\u2018<\/span> on<\/span> in alcohol<\/span> a<\/span> smoking, and <\/span>for example <\/span>he sees sport only on<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>television, <\/span>because <\/span>he is so <\/span>extremely la<\/span>zy<\/span>, ,<\/span> if <\/span>he<\/span> cannot switch <\/span>to another, more popular channel<\/span>...<\/span>The only thing<\/span>\u00e9<\/span> v<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>he is not <\/span>even a little<\/span> l<\/span>greedy<\/span> is <\/span>however <\/span>food<\/span> -<\/span> v<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>in that<\/span>field<\/span> is, on the contrary, an absolute<\/span>world champion,<\/span>\u00a0 <\/span>and because he does not even have time to chew, his weight <\/span>constantly<\/span> increases <\/span>and increases<\/span>.<\/span> This <\/span>results in<\/span> a sad fact<\/span>, that he can cross the bridge <\/span>only literally <\/span>at a snail's pace <\/span>- <\/span>in<\/span> 10 minutes.<\/span><\/p>\n

However, ruminants are <\/span>- as is well known - <\/span>bad at<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>mathematics and cannot calculate how long they are able to <\/span>footbridge <\/span>what<\/span> fastest <\/span>to cross when they can go over the bridge<\/span> at most two<\/span>,<\/span> a<\/span> at the same time<\/span>,<\/span> because <\/span>already <\/span>it is dark, with them <\/span>they must<\/span> constantly carry<\/span> torch<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

The ruminants, however, learned that not far from their pasture there is a chess camp<\/span>,<\/span> and because they know that chess players have excellent logical thinking, they decided to go to the camp<\/span>\u00a0 <\/span>and ask the children for advice<\/span>:<\/span><\/p>\n

\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n

\u201e<\/span>J<\/span>how to<\/span>we<\/span> move as quickly as possible from<\/span>\u00a0<\/span>one side of the bridge to the other<\/span>,<\/span> and how many minutes <\/span>will it<\/span> take us<\/span> at least<\/span>? Advise <\/span>will it <\/span>children!<\/span>\u201c<\/span><\/p>\n
